1. Модальные глаголы can, may, must и их эквиваленты.

Студенты должны выполнить один из 2 вариантов контрольной работы в соответствии с последней цифрой номера зачетной книжки: 1,2,3,4,5 – 1 вариант, 6,7,8,9,0– 2 вариант.

Контрольную работу рекомендуется приносить в файле, скрепленную скрепкой, или в папке до начала сессии. Допускается и письменный, и печатный вариант с ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНЫМ прописыванием задания.

I. Прочитайте текст и письменно выполните задания.

1. Выпишите из текста, если имеются, предложения со словами that, one, it. Определите их грамматические функции, переведите на русский язык.

2. Выпишите из текста, если имеются, предложения со сказуемыми в пассивном залоге. Определите форму сказуемого, переведите предложения на русский язык.

RUSSIA’S INDUSTRIAL GROWTH

1. Heavy industry forms the basis of Russia's industrial complex. Its development is characterised by a high technological level of production by the emergence of new branches, including mechanical engineering for nuclear power production.

2. Russian power engineering comprises high-capacity, electric power stations forming part of the Unified Power Grid. New electric power stations such as the Bratsk Station and the Sayan-Shushenskoye Station have been built in the country. Siberia's power system has been included in Power Grid which will be able to serve a large part of the territory of Russia.

3. Today oil, gas and coal are being produced not only in well-developed areas but also in Siberia, on Sakhalin Island and other regions where these minerals have been recently discovered.

4. The light industry is developing at a fast rate as well. Russian fabrics, TV sets, watches and clocks and many other household goods have acquired good reputation abroad.

5. Russia holds one of the leading places in the scale of construction work. Thousands of families move into new flats every year.
