READING AND TRANSLATION PRACTICE

MY DAILY ROUTINE

Now I am a first-year student at the academy. I’d like to tell you about my daily routine which I follow more or less every day. My  typical working day is full of activities.

My lectures begin at eight, so I have to get up at 7 o'clock on weekdays. My alarm clock usually wakes me up and my working day begins. When I wake up, I usually lie in bed for 5 minutes and then stand up. First, I turn on the radio, make my bed and do morning exercises. I am usually in a hurry, so I do not have much time for that. Then I go to the bathroom, take a warm shower and clean my teeth. After that I get dressed and brush my hair. Later, I go to the kitchen and have breakfast. As a rule, I have a light breakfast which consists of a cup of coffee or tea, a boiled egg, and a cheese or a sausage sandwich. While eating I love to listen to the latest news on the radio.

I leave the house at quarter to eight and walk to the academy. As my academy is not far from my house, it takes me 10 minutes to get there. Three or four classes a day is the ordinary timetable. We have lectures in different subjects. Usually I don’t miss my classes because I want to pass my exams successfully. At 1 p. m. we have a big interval for lunch. That’s my favourite time. That is the time to share the latest news with my friends. I sometimes go to the canteen which is not too far from the academy. At 2 o’clock we have to be back to our classes.

I often have to stay at the academy till late in the evening. Twice a week I stay later to play tennis or I am busy with the English language course. I also like visiting different sports events, for example, soccer matches. So, the world is full of enjoyable things to do.

When I come home I have dinner, after dinner I have a rest. While resting, I listen to music or look through newspapers and magazines. Then I start doing my homework. It takes me about three hours to cope with my homework properly. Sometimes I help my mother about the house and do our shopping. Frankly speaking, I haven’t enough time for hobby during weekdays. So if I have some free time on weekdays, I just surf the net, watch TV or read a book.

As a rule, I go to bed at about 11 o’clock. Sometimes it happens that I go to bed at midnight or even later totally exhausted. After such working days I sleep like a log.
