INTRODUCTION

 

Learning English grammar is always a difficult process to most of the English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners at secondary school level. Innovative ideas, interesting teaching materials, practicing and drilling learners for learning the English grammar should be done through fun and joyful ways.     

The main aim of this research works is to identify and describe examples of practical grammar instruction methods in an EFL which employed modern techniques. The process of the library-based research involves identifying and locating relevant information, analysing what has been found, and then developing and expressing the ideas. The results revealed that songs and poems, music, games, and tasks can be employed as tools in the classroom. Using modern techniques in teaching English grammar in the classroom at the secondary schools has paved a positive way to students to learn the language meaningfully.

The communicative nature of the language is still not fully understood. According to the tendency, when teaching foreign languages ​ ​ from the very beginning, a “book” version of the concept formulation is modeled, which not only deprives  the speech of the necessary naturalness, but also complicates the process of practical formation and formulation of thought in a foreign language. Studying the natural  processes of grammatical construction of a statement when mastering not only the native, but also a foreign language allows you to increase the effectiveness of teaching foreign grammar from the very beginning of mastering it, to give naturalness to the students' statements in the teaching environment based on the grammar of the spoken language.

As the studies and experience of practicing teachers show, the introduction, consolidation and activation of grammatical material only on a communicative basis does not provide a solid knowledge of the rules of morphogenesis and morphology and does not guarantee error-free speech. In this regard, the researchers are faced with the task of developing an integrated approach to grammar teaching, a communicative-cognitive approach, which determined the selection of the contents of grammar education for the senior school level, providing the opportunity to communicate in a foreign language, as well as strong knowledge of grammatical phenomena through the implementation of specially organized exercises.

Thus, the relevance of the topic of this study is due to increased requirements for the quality of teaching a foreign language with a view to earlier communication, on the one hand, and undeveloped issues related to the problem of developing and improving grammatical skills, on the other.

    The object of this study – modern techniques that will help EFL teachers reinvent their grammar teaching methods and make their classes interesting.

    The subject of the study is the process of teaching grammar for 6th grade schoolchildren of the secondary school.

The purpose of this study is to study the theoretical background and methodological foundations of the use of modern techniques in the process of teaching grammar structures to 6th grade learners at school.

- tо dеtеrmіnе the theoretical foundations of grammar education;

- tо characterize the psychological characteristics of the formation of speech grammatical skill as one of the components of linguistic competence;

- tо describe the principles of the formation of speech grammar skills;

- to characterize a set of exercises to improve grammar skills of schoolchildren;

- tо еxplоrе the effect of grammar knowledge in improving learners’ productive skills;

- tо еxаmіnе the development of 6th grade learners’ productive skills.

   To solve the tasks, the following research methods were used: generalization of the experience of domestic and foreign schools in the field of research; studying the experience of teaching grammar and observing the process of development and improvement of grammatical skills, experienced learning.

Оpіnіоns аnd соnсlusіоns tоld аbоut on the development of productive skills іn methodolоgy аrе usеd іn tһ іs wоrk. Аlsо, іt gіvеs оppоrtunіty tо undеrstаnd tһ е fеаturеs оf some modern techniques, pесulіаrіtіеs оf іts usаgе.
