front wheel axle 1

T.R. 59 Nm (5.9 m · kg, 43 ft · lb)

Use the damper rod holder 2.

 

• front wheel axle pinch bolt 3

 

T.R. 23 Nm (2.3 m · kg, 17 ft · lb)

Damper rod holder (14 mm) 90890-04085

 

CAUTION:

Before tightening the wheel axle pinch bolt, push down hand on the handlebar several times and check if the front fork rebounds smoothly.

 

 

Ь Install:

 

front wheel sensor 1

T.R. 30 Nm (3.0 m · kg, 22 ft · lb)

• front wheel sensor lead guide

Э • front brake caliper 2

 

T.R. 40 Nm (4.0 m · kg, 29 ft · lb)

NOTE:

When installing the front wheel sensor, check the wheel sensor lead for twists and the sensor electrode for foreign materials.

 

CAUTION:

To route the front wheel sensor lead, refer to “CABLE ROUTING” in chapter 2.

REMOVING THE REAR WHEEL (XP500)

 

1. Stand the scooter on a level surface.

 

WARNING

Securely support the scooter so that there is no danger of it falling over.

NOTE:

Place the scooter on a suitable stand so that the rear wheel is elevated.

Я Remove:

 

brake caliper

 

NOTE:

Do not squeeze the brake lever when remov-ing the brake caliper.

REMOVING THE REAR WHEEL AND REAR

 

WHEEL SENSOR (XP500A)

 

CAUTION:

А Be sure not to contact the sensor elec-trode to any metal part when removing the front wheel sensor from the sensor housing.

А Do not operate the brake lever when removing the brake caliper.

1. Stand the scooter on a level surface.

 

WARNING

Securely support the scooter so that there is no danger of it falling over.

NOTE:

Place the scooter on a suitable stand so that the rear wheel is elevated.

2. Remove:

 

• rear wheel sensor 1

 

CAUTION:

Be sure not to contact the sensor electrode 1 to any metal part when removing the rear

Wheel sensor from the sensor housing.

Х Remove:

 

brake caliper

 

NOTE:

Do not squeeze the brake lever when remov-ing the brake caliper.

 

CHECKING THE REAR WHEEL SENSOR
