No obstructions and crystal clear. Disc also includes a NY1 review, a NY1 interview with Alan Rickman, and the full 30 minute Theatre Talk devoted to the show. Quality: A)

 

Sense and Sensibility (16 july 2016. San Diego, CA. Cast: Megan McGinnis, Sharon Rietkerk, Wayne Alan Wilcox, Sean Allan Krill, Peter Saide, Jill Van Velzer, David Schlumpf, Paula Scrofano, Emily Berman, Elizabeth Telford, Colin Morgan, Matthew Keffer, Megan Long, Brian Ray Norris. A lovely new show full of talented performers, and the lead women have a great rapport with each other. The staging is simple but effective, and the tiered sections help the action move seamlessly between scenes. A very nice capture with no blackouts and no washout. There is a rail that obstructs the actors legs when they come into the audience, but the action on the main stage is unobstructed. It's filmed in 16: 9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans. 2DVD)

Reagle Music Theater of Greater Boston, Recreation of the Roundabout Revival mounted right after the show closed on Broadway using the 3 stand-bys from the Broadway run: Jim Clow and Terri Bibb as Georg and Amalia (both of whom are miles better than Boyd Gaines and Diane Fratantoni were on Broadway), with Peter Boynton as Kodaly (also excellent). Tripod shot with zoom. Image is about as good as you can get from a 90's VHS camera. An absolute gem) NOT FOR TRADE!

Surprisingly good, filmed from the balcony. Some generational loss, but considering its age nothing too bad at all. This revival didn't fare as well as the original, with only 32 official performances. Quality: B+)

It's not the deepest or most meaningful, but it really is enjoyable to watch. The entire cast is, without exception, magnificent. Sutton Foster steals the show any time she's on-stage, and John Tartaglia is magnetic. Lots of nice theatre in-jokes, a few catchy numbers and laughs a-plenty. Good filming for the most part - some minor washout on the wider shots, but you get a good view of the overall action and staging)

Two short blackouts during Let Your Freak Flag Fly, and another blackout during the wedding scene that lasts about five minutes.
