UK Autumn 2021 Meeting

Please note that we are still working on the fi nal details, so please let us know if you may be able to attend and we can keep you informed of progress.
9th and 10th October
The fi rst day will take place at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, postcode SO51 OQA. This will include guided walks to see some of their fi nest maples. We shall meet at the main visitor reception area at 1000 hrs for a 1015 hrs start, stopping for lunch at approximately 1300 hrs. Clare Goddard the Director has very kindly given us use of the 'Roy Lancaster' room, situated in Jermyn's House, were we can have our lunch. There is food available for purchase at Jermyn's House.
After lunch we shall hold our usual silent auction before the afternoon tour so please bring what you can, all proceeds go to the Maple Society.
The afternoon tour will leave around 1415 hrs and fi nish around 1630hrs.
Roy Lancaster and David Jewell, the Arboretum's Curator, will be our guides for the day. We could not ask for two more able guides and it will be a fabulous day.

Nothing has been arranged for a meal on the Saturday night because of the situation with Covid.
On the 10th October we shall visit Wynkcoombe Arboretum. This is a little known arboretum in the UK but has a great collection of over 800 trees and many interesting maples. The web site is terrifi c and well worth looking at before the visit. We shall meet at 1000 hrs for a 1015 hrs start. The owner, Mr smith, has very kindly agreed to show us around and this promises to be a very special tour. The tour will fi nish around lunchtime and members will be free to depart or further enjoy the arboretum on their own.
