MY FUTURE CAREER
Finishing school is the beginning of the independent life for millions of school leavers. Modern society offers a vast range of career opportunities for young people. Industry and business, farming, science and education, medicine, service, arts and journalism are just a few professional fields a young person can specialize in. Our society needs well-educated people. But it is not easy to make your personal career choice. The decision once taken will influence your future life. Some young people follow the advice of their parents, some do computer based quizzes to reveal their true ambitions, others can't decide even after leaving school. As for me …
(Sample answer) As for me, my future career choice is connected with my strongest childhood memories of life on the farm with my grandparents. I would spent all my time in the garden and orchard playing, watching birds and insects, talking with my granny and grandpa and, of course, helping them. I dug the ground, planted and watered vegetables and trees, hoed and weeded the beds. I remember my grandpa driving a small farm tractor. How jealous I was then and happy when he took me with him! We used to bring in baskets of produce – tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, carrots, beet, onions as well as pears, apples, plums, cherries and much more. As a result, my grandma was always busy canning and freezing in summer. In autumn I was excited to see pumpkins of every shape and size in the field.
I enjoyed being in the village and still love the lifestyle. I`ve got to know much about farming from my family but I want to study and learn more about modern agricultural methods and technologies, new machinery and fertilizers. I think, nowadays countryside is welcoming young farmers. Moreover, the government of our country gives great support to various forms of agribusiness. So students of agricultural institutions have many ways for their career development.
I have a dream of living in a big farmhouse with the whole family and labouring not far from it. Besides, countryside gives us some certain advantages being quiet and peaceful, clean, calm and relaxing with plenty of open space. That perfectly suits my personality!
I hope to use any opportunity to develop my professional career in agriculture. I expect to earn enough money and get personal satisfaction from what I`m doing. So everything starts with my education and training!
