DISASSEMBLING THE SECONDARY
SHEAVE
1. Remove:
• secondary sheave spring seat nut 1
NOTE:
Install the sheave spring compressor 2 onto the secondary sheave as shown. Then, com-press the spring, and remove the secondary sheave spring seat nut 1 with locknut wrench

CHECKING THE V-BELT
1. Check:
• V-belt 1
Cracks/damage/wear → Replace. Grease/oil → Check the primary and sec-ondary pulleys.
2. Measure:
• V-belt width 2
Out of specification → Replace.

Mm (1.26 in)
<Limit>: 30.5 mm (1.20 in)

CHECKING THE V-BELT CASE AIR DUCT

V-belt case air duct Cracks/damage → Replace.
CHECKING THE PRIMARY SHEAVE
Ю Check:
primary sliding sheave 1
primary fixed sheave 2 Cracks/damage/wear → Replace the pri-mary sliding sheave and primary fixed sheave as a set.
CHECKING THE WEIGHTS
The following procedure applies to all of the weights.
А Check:
weights 1
Cracks/wear/scaling/chipping → Replace. Out of specification → Replace.
Weight outside diameter 25.0 mm (0.98 in) <Limit>: 24.5 mm (0.96 in)
CHECKING THE SLIDERS
The following procedure applies to all of the sliders.
Б Check:
sliders 1
Cracks/damage/wear → Replace.

CHECKING THE SECONDARY SHEAVE
1. Check:
• secondary fixed sheave
• secondary sliding sheave Cracks/damage/wear → Replace the sec-ondary fixed and sliding sheaves as a set.
2. Check:
• torque cam groove 1
Damage/wear → Replace the secondary fixed and sliding sheaves as a set.
3. Check:
• guide pin 2
Damage/wear → Replace the secondary fixed and sliding sheaves as a set.
ASSEMBLING THE PRIMARY SHEAVE
1. Clean:
• primary fixed sheave
• primary sliding sheave
• collar
• weights
• sliders
• cam
2. Install:
1 • weights 1
• sliders 2
• cam 3
NOTE:
Do not apply the grease inside of the primary sheave.

secondary sheave spring seat nut
| T.R. | 90 Nm (9.0 m · kg, 65 ft · lb) |
NOTE:
Attach the sheave spring compressor 2 onto the secondary sheave as shown.
Then compress the spring, and tighten the secondary sheave spring seat nut 1 with lock-nut wrench 3.

П Install:
V-belt case air duct joint clamp 1
V-belt case air duct 2
NOTE:
И Align the projection a in the V-belt case air duct 2 with the slot b on the V-belt case air duct joint clamp 1.
И Align the projection c in the V-belt case air duct joint clamp 1 with the slot d in the right
crankcase cover 3.
