0. Introduction. 1. The Beginning: Kreacher’s Childhood and Life Growing Up
Стр 1 из 9Следующая ⇒ 0. Introduction I only started this analysis of Kreacher after receiving a specific response to a question. Technically, before then, I still had done over two weeks of research on him (now it’s getting closer to almost a month, especially with all the work I’ve put into this), his deductions, letter, and what other theories and discussions others had about him. But if I needed to provide another reason, it’s because out of the original 4, Kreacher is the one people argue about the most. The other 3 in comparison are fairly straight forward with their stories. Not so with our resident Thief. My main goal for this analysis is to hopefully help at least few people learn about Kreacher, with the best result being maybe I can convince 1 or 2 about Kreacher being a better guy than most people think. I’d ask that people give me a chance (I put a lot of work into this, trying to answer every question I could think of), but if you really don’t like it, don’t read. Ok, everyone good now? Great. Let’s begin with the response I got to one of my questions. (Don’t worry, I do my best to back up my opinion on Kreacher with more than just this answer). I just used it as a basis to jump off of as well as motivation to try to prove my theories. Based on the last part of this response, I think this gives evidence towards Kreacher being a good person. If you want to put this another way, if black is evil and white is good, this means Kreacher is at least gray rather than black. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, just try to keep this in mind as you follow me along. Again, this is my opinion on what his story is based on all the thinking and research I’ve done as well as heard from others. This’ll be a combination of his deductions, letter, background, diary, some skins, some miscellaneous bits, as well as a few other theories that involve him.
1. The Beginning: Kreacher’s Childhood and Life Growing Up To start from the beginning, Kreacher is likely an orphan himself who lived on the streets from a very young age. Malnourishment is likely the reason he’s so skinny in game (he never had enough money to feed himself well enough). It’s also why his clothes look old, cheap, and in not great condition. His character day letter also hints at Kreacher being an orphan: The letter is mainly in regards to the orphaned children, but this same statement, from the way it’s written, implies that he himself was one of those same people he is describing. That’s how he can “understand” them. Also, he talks from a position of knowing, as he talks as if he himself has had this very experience. There’s more proof of his life and social status in the diary. He refers to himself as “lower class”, and when talking about the Emily and Freddy, he describes himself as not included in the group he classifies as the “upper class”. This also displays for us Kreacher’s strong dislike/hate for the “upper class”. This is why he feels and acts the way he does towards Emily and Freddy (especially Freddy), and why he and Freddy quarrel with each other in the diary.
From this sentence, we see Kreacher mocking Freddy after he takes the lawyer’s tableware. “Uncivilized” is referring to what Freddy thinks Kreacher is: a dirty thief and “lower class” scum. Freddy, as a lawyer (specifically an economic professional lawyer) who provides financial service, is of the middle class (the fact he wasn’t successful doesn’t matter right now). He is a man who is aware of his own status, proud of it, and flaunts it. From what we can see of his character, he thinks highly of himself (self-important) due to his superior birth (into a higher “class”) and good education. Of all the characters, Freddy is also the one who comments the most on all the items we can see in the manor. So it’s no wonder he despises Kreacher, who he sees as a person that is “beneath” him. “Uncivilized” can also reference how people like Kreacher probably didn’t have the money for eating utensils, much less money to buy food at all. So “uncivilized” may actually be an appropriate description. People like Kreacher had to take and steal what they could to make it through each day, and they likely fought over it as well. This is where he learned to steal, and why he doesn’t necessarily see it as “wrong”. He just sees it as doing what he has to in order to survive. 2. Light-footed Lower your body, slow down, don’t get caught. This is my specialty. Kreacher Pierson is skilled at covering his tracks. Kreacher is likely an orphan (just like the kids in his orphanage) who lived on the streets from a very young age. Living on the streets meant dealing with the violent, harsh, and chaotic lifestyle that came with it. Thugs, gangs, and thieves were common. Fights frequently broke out, meaning that most of these people that lived on the street learned to speak with their fists. As a result, it is highly possible Kreacher was frequently beaten up. This is also likely where this part of Kreacher from the diary came from. It was a result of necessity. With how difficult this kind of life was, most people weren’t going to be nice. If he wanted to live, this was the only way to do it. It was the law of the jungle. Only the strong survived, while the weak wound up dead or possibly killed. This is also likely where Kreacher learned to lie. You did whatever you had to if you wanted to make it to tomorrow. Kreacher references this in his diary. This was the way things were back in that day and age. It was the harsh truth of reality for people like him. The world was a cold, cruel, dark place. This is why Kreacher is such a realist.
