Эта глава посвящена болезням гипофиза, которые встречаются только у детей или требуют особого внимания именно в детском возрасте. Более подробная характеристика болезней адено- и нейрогипофиза дана в гл. 6 и гл. 7.
Гипопитуитаризм
Этим термином обозначают дефицит одного или нескольких гормонов гипофиза. Клинические проявления гипопитуитаризма зависят от того, какой гормон находится в недостатке, а также от возраста, в котором возникает дефицит гормона. Например, дефицит СТГ у грудных детей может быть причиной гипогликемии голодания, у детей препубертатного возраста приводит к задержке роста, а у взрослых проявляется морщинами вокруг глаз и рта, отложением жира в подкожной клетчатке и снижением мышечной массы.
