4. Junk food and fast food restaurants
4. Junk food and fast food restaurants Well, what I’d like to start with is to say that the problem of fast food remains urgent for me as I’m a girl, caring about my weight and appearance. No doubt that the majority of people know about fast food health hazard but keep taking it at least from time to time. It’s not strange at all: the number of fast food cafes all over the town is enormous and it’s almost impossible to go by without dropping in. They always attract people with tasty smells, positive music and free Wi-Fi. Let’s take McDonald’s as an example. I know it’s not worth going there but can’t help doing it. Well, of course I usually take smth like an ice-cream or a milk shake and try not to take sandwiches and burgers. Anyway I suppose any meal in such a place is a kind of junk food and it’s deplorable. I guess this wide popularity remains the same over years due to universal recognition. Besides people got used to lower prices at fast food restaurants and their tempting meals. But actually comparing the prices with those in regular restaurants, we can see that it’s not really cheaper to eat at McDonald’s. Still people keep going there, keep taking extra calories and spending a lot of money. To my mind we have not to be tempted by fast food restaurants. We need to try eating at home and when it’s absolutely impossible it’s better to have dinner at an ordinary restaurant, avoiding fast food. Talking about my own attitude to fast food restaurants – I wish I could come there only to use free internet. 5. Conditions provided by modern hotels Well, what I’d like to start with is to say that the conditions provided by modern hotels depend on many factors, but truly speaking all of them try to do their best. First of all it is the level and the price. Nowadays everyone can choose from a great variety of possible options: from the cheapest B& Bs to the luxury of 5-star all-included hotels. The conditions you choose depend on the way you want to have a rest and the aims you want to achieve during your vacation. Some people have enough money and time to stay at big hotels full of different services up to own part of sea. They usually provide with infinitude of food, extra facilities; actually such places can do anything you please only to make you feel satisfied. Speaking about me, I’ve never had a rest at such a hotel. I have neither money, nor reasons to go there. As for me the main purpose of any hotel is to provide with a nice bed to sleep at night. I don’t care at all about 10 fresh towels and new sheets every single day, about the window view and a personal TV set. To my mind a hotel isn’t that very place you should spend all your vacation at. Of course if a had such a chance I wouldn’t refuse to stay at smth really luxurious and enjoy it, but my point of view remains the same: an extremely expensive hotel isn’t worth paying for, no matter what kind of conditions it provides.
6. Problems faced by young job hunters. First of all I’d like to say that this year our group is finishing the educational course at this faculty. We are graduating from the university. And so one of the most difficult problems a young senior faces is searching for a job. Everybody wants to find good and well-paid work. But it’s not easy. Every person chooses a job in accordance with his skills, abilities, knowledge, qualification, and of course, interests. So, after your last exam at the university is passed, a young senior starts job hunting. But some young people had some old jobs during their education at the University and they don’t try to hunt a better job and continue this practice. So, there are some ways of job hunting. First of all you can look for work in the Internet. It is the cheapest way of job-hunting. But I think it is unreliable because some vacancies can have been already occupied, but this information is not shown on the site. And one business organization that that a young person can use when he is job-hunting is an employment agency. You should pay fees for the service. But there are also some state employment services and no-profit agencies that do not receive fees for finding jobs for people. And appointments, resume or CV and of course job interview are very important and necessary while job-hunting. It is also important to make efficient use of time and to schedule your days hour by hour. So, you begin to study the market of offered vacancies. Your main task is to understand, whether the position being offered is consistent with the levels of your skills, education and experience of work. Carefully read the employer’s demands in the ads. Then you should fill in the application form. And you should prepare yourself as best as possible for the meeting with the employer. You should be on time to your job interview. During the interview you shouldn’t be nervous. Your hands and legs mustn’t shake, because it can show your uncertainty and disrespect to your employee. You should be confident and in a calm voice answer the employee’s questions. And of course your resume must be filled in correctly. It shows your literacy and accuracy. Your should demonstrate your interest in the applying company. You can learn some information reading the advertisements in the Internet or which was given in the employment agency. Your dress of clothes should be neat and clean at the interview. A young applicant should reveal himself from the best view, demonstrate his best qualities and skills and then perhaps he may get the job being hunted.
