Сногсшибательный разбор эссе IELTS Academic по всем критериям: что, где, как и зачем писать на высокий балл?
Один из типов IELTS эссе – ДВА ВОПРОСА. Даётся тема и два вопроса, которые могут быть, например:
Is this a positive development? What measures could be taken?
ИЛИ
Do you agree or disagree? Why should….?
Давайте подробно разберём пример этого эссе и в деталях поговорим о 4 критериях оценивания, и что конкретно нужно писать и НЕ писать на высокий балл.
Сначала разберем структуру этого вида эссе и посмотрим, что же писать в каждом параграфе и как эффективно их структурировать на высочайший балл 9. 0, полностью отвечая на задание – критерий TASK ACHIEVEMENT.
Далее по полочкам разложим GRAMMATICAL RANGE/ACCURACY и LEXICAL RESOURCE. И финишируем COHERENCE/COHESION (связывание идей и логика изложения)
Это эссе написано Кембриджем как пример эссе на высооокий балл. Взяли мы его из официальных материалов, бывших заданий IELTS (past papers) – Cambridge Tests 10
Итак, вот задание также как оно выгдядет на экзамене:
WRITING TASK 2
You should spend 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behaviour to children?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

TASK ACHIEVEMENT
One important stage in a child’s growth is certainly the development of a conscience, which is linked to the ability to tell right from wrong (перефраз задания children – a child, learn the difference between … – tell right from wrong). This skill comes with time and good parenting, and my firm conviction is that punishment does not have much of a role to play in this. Therefore, I have to disagree almost entirely with the given statement (продолжение перефраза и ответ на вопрос задания - do you agree or disagree with this opinion: четкая позиция автора – disagree. Тут 3 предложения, можно 2 – перефраз + точка зрения).
To some extent the question depends on the age of the child (ответ на 1-й вопрос и причина почему автор не согласен - depends on the age of the child – основная идея). To punish a very young child is both wrong and foolish as an infant will not understand what is happening or why he or she is being punished (объяснение этой идеи про возраст – что это значит – зависит от возраста? + пример возраста – an infant). Once the age of reason is reached however, a child can be rewarded for good behavior and discouraged from bad (продолжение объяснения идеи про возраст). This kind but firm approach will achieve more than harsh punishments, which might entail many negative consequences unintended by the parents (подкрепление позиции автора: почему не согласен с тем, что - punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction – всё чётко и по заданию – последующая идея выплывает из предыдущей – огонь!!! ).
To help a child learn the difference between right and wrong, teachers and parents should firstly provide good role modeling in their own behavior (продолжаем отвечать на 1-й вопрос – тут вторая причина почему автор не согласен, с тем что punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction – т. к teachers and parents should firstly provide good role modeling вместо punishment). After that, if sanctions are needed, the punishment should not be of a physical nature, as that merely sends the message that it is acceptable for larger people to hit smaller ones — an outcome which may well result in the child starting to bully others. Nor should the punishment be in any way cruel (поясняем причину несогласия и результат, + объясняем какое punishment лучше).
Rather, teachers and parents can use a variety of methods to discipline their young charges, such as detention, withdrawal of privileges, and time-out (ответ на 2-й вопрос и примеры мер наказания – достаточно трех в перечеслении). Making the punishment fit the crime is a useful notion, which would see children being made to pick up rubbish they have dropped, clean up graffiti they have drawn, or apologise to someone they have hurt. (добавляем про то, какое punishment лучше и даем 3 примера что конкретно дети должны делать). In these ways, responsibility is developed in the child, which leads to much better future behaviour than does punishment (возможный результат punishment которое fit the crime).

Автор полностью ответил на задание эссе и дал подробные ответы на два вопроса. Писал по теме, придерживаясь формального стиля. Плюс объяснил свои идеи и подкрепил их примерами из собственного опыта – см. выше какими. Т. е ответил на задание - give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.
