Стиль изложения должен быть как такой же, как в академической работе, например, в дипломе или курсовой. Вы пишите Formal Academic Essay, а это значит, что неформальный стиль вы НЕ используете (isn’t, aren’t, what’s up?, gonna, kinda like it, etc. )
Слова IELTS Essay = слова вашего диплома, курсовой или другой академической работы
2. 40 минут!
За эссе Вы получаете больше очков, чем за часть 1. Поэтому, пишем 40 минут, не меньше!
3. 270 Слов
Экзаменатор считает сколько слов Вы написали. Да, Считает. Пишите меньше 150 вместо 250 - оценка сильно снижается. Старайтесь написать примерно 270 слов. Больше можно, но больше слов = больше ошибок и времени.
Сколько слов я написал(а)? Трюк, чтобы не тратить время на подсчет слов!
Скачиваем Writing Answer Sheet (. pdf), пишем эссе на бланке Task 2 и считаем слова. Запоминаем то место на листе, где Вы написали 250-ое слово (или 270-ое). На экзамене во что бы то ни стало пишем до этого места. Можно посчитать количество строчек, которые Вам, с Вашим почерком, нужно исписать, чтобы было 250-280 слов.
4. Address the question. Stay on the topic.
Внимательно читаем и правильно понимаем задание. Если Вы будете писать не по теме, оценка будет сильно снижена. Пока пишите, спрашивайте себя: отвечаю ли я на вопрос эссе?
Чтобы правильно понять тему и вопросы эссе, сформулируйте их своими словами, перефразируйте.
5. Проверка
Обязательно оставляем 2-3 минуты на проверку: spelling, grammar mistakes.
6. Не повторяйте слова задания и не списывайте его в Ваш ответ.
Это слова не Ваши и оцениваться они не будут (экзаменатор их просто не засчитает, что может негативно сказаться на количестве слов). Своими словами перефразируйте то, что написано в задании.

7. Перефразируйте.
Старайтесь не повторять слова. Используйте синонимы: к примеру, important, essential, crucial, vital. Экзаменатор оценивает Ваш словарный запас, так что необходимо продемонстрировать всё его богатство. Use a range of vocabulary.
8. Параграфы
Обязательно нужны параграфы:
- Вступление
- Основная часть (2, 3 §)
- Заключение
Структура параграфов:
1 параграф = 1 основная идея + supporting evidence/примеры
Выбираем ОДНУ главную идею/мысль параграфа. Расшифровываем её, объясняем, пишем детали. Потом ПРИМЕР, который её иллюстрирует.
Это выглядит примерно так:
(1) One problem about living in a big city is the amount of time spent on getting from one place to another. (2) Living in large cities means that it takes at least an hour to get from your house to where you want to go, which could be tiring and time-consuming. (3) For example, if you want to see a film in a megalopolis, you have to leave an hour early, while people in small towns can get to the cinema in a few minutes.
(1) - Основная идея параграфа (Одна! )
(2) - Её раскрытие, объяснение + детали (which could be tiring and time-consuming)
(3) - Пример, который иллюстрирует основную идею

9. Примеры
Ваше эссе должно включать ПРИМЕРЫ! Это написано в задании. Если их нет – задание Вы выполняете не полностью и оценка снижается.
Что такое примеры в вашем эссе?
Children should eat less junk food such as burgers and chips.
I agree that money is important to meet the basic people’s needs. For example, we need money to pay for housing, health care, and education.
Важно правильно понять тему. Если неверно поняли задание и пишите не по теме, теряете много баллов. Поэтому, ваш первый шаг – это вникнуть в тему, проговорить её своими словами и только этого начинать писать.
10. Планируем
Что написать? Сколько параграфов? Какая ваша точка зрения? Перед тем, как начать эссе, важно уделить 2-3 минуты и подумать.
11. Важно внимательно читать задание.
Читаем и определяем тип эссе: opinion essay, discuss both these views и т. д.

От вида эссе зависит структура Вашего ответа. Вы не пишите об advantages/disadvantages, если у Вас problem-solution essay.

IELTS Essays Topics 2020 по типам эссе. Мы очень заморочились и собрали большой список заданий эссе 2020 года. Эти задания были на реальных экзаменах с Января 2020.
Задания разделены по типам (видам) эссе. К сожалению, Кембридж постоянно выдумывает новые темы и на экзамене может попасться ярая дичь или вполне себе нормальная тема.
Внимание: вряд ли Вам попадётся точно такое же задание из списка ниже, НО может выпасть основная тема, например про mobile phones или art или shortage of housing. Поэтому, вникайте в темы 2020 и готовьте идеи и слова.
